The Annual Saint Mark Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, September 18 at Glenview Country Club.
Player registration will begin at all weekend Masses beginning August 7/8. If you have not played in our tournament before, you only need a golf handicap and the $80 registration fee. Last year a total of $1,800 was given to golfers in prize awards.
An excellent Golf Banquet will be held on the following day. By popular demand Vic’s Embers will cater the Banquet again this year.

On September 9 the Women’s Guild will sponsor a retreat at the San Pedro Spiritual Development Center. The San Pedro Center is located on 480 beautiful acres on Lake Howell in Winter Park.
The cost is $30 which includes round trip bus service, coffee & donuts upon arrival in the morn-ing at San Pedro, lunch & an afternoon beverage.
The retreat will be given by Deacon Bob Esposito.

On Wednesday August 18th at 8am will be the Memorial Mass for deceased members of Council 14222. Attendance by Knights and Ladies Auxilliary is encouraged.
At 7pm in Church Hall we will have our Council Meeting and Ladies Auxillary meeting followed by refreshments.

presented a check for $2,819 to Independent Living
for Retarded Adults in Ocala. This award was made
possible by the generous donations made to Knights
Tootsie Roll drive held in February.

Council 14222 Installment ceremony was held July 21st. A very special thank you to our Clergy, Father George, Deacon Bob and Deacon John, our Alter Server Anne Espisito And the Knights of Columbus Honor Gaurd, for making the evening very special with a Mass and Blessing of the 10 Comandments. And for The Ladies Auxillary for all the work and preperation for the gathering after. Our next council meeting will be held August 18th, 7pm in the St Marks Hall. We will be starting a new and exciting year. If any of the Parish men are interested in becoming a Knight please feel free to call we are always looking to improve our Council with fresh new ideas. Pastoral Council Nominations
This week we will begin to accept nominations for new
members to the Parish Pastoral Council. We will be
selecting 8 new Parishioners.
You must meet the following guidelines:
1. Be registered in this Parish
2. Serve the Parish full time
3. Received the Sacrament of Confirmation
4. If married, be in a valid Catholic Marriage
5. Must be an active member of one of the many
ministries in the Parish.
You may nominate yourself or another parishioner.
We use the Matthias Method to choose the new members.
New terms will begin in September.
This is a serious commitment, the first 4 selected will
serve a period of 2 years, and the second 4 will serve
a period of 3 years.
Golf Cart Raffle

In conjunction with the Golf Tournament, the Saint Mark Men’s Guild is raffling the brand new, well-equipped E-Z-GO electric golf cart. The cart will be in the Church lobby for inspection.
The E-Z-GO dealer gave us a great price and Beyers Funeral Home purchased the cart. Thus all raffle ticket sales proceeds will go to Saint’s Mark Debt Reduction Fund.
Tickets will be available in the lobby before and after weekend Masses and the office during the week. Cost per ticket is $20.
Drawing is on September 4, 2010.
Pastoral Care Ministry
The ministry will coordinate to organize and offer
continuing care to the faithful who are ill and those
who become hospitalized requiring on-going spiritual
and corporal support. It will assure the Clergy and the Laity that all
parishioners will be followed through the health care system and beyond until they are able to return to regular parish activities themselves. It will also provide a starting point for the consideration of ongoing support for those who require additional assistance.
